The Regional Accounting Council of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo (CRCSP), represented by its president, Jo\u00e3o Carlos Castilho Garcia, at the invitation of the Commercial Association of S\u00e3o Paulo (ACSP), which organized the meeting, together with the Confederation of Commercial and Business Associations of Brazil (CACB), was present at an important meeting on October 18, 2024, which was attended by several business entities and liberal professionals. The meeting was held at the CACB headquarters and aimed to discuss the regulation of Simples Nacional in the context of the Tax Reform, with the presence of the president of the Senate, senator Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD). Castilho also participated in the meeting as a member of the Advisory Board of the Commercial Association of SP, a position he holds as president of the CRCSP.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, the CRCSP reaffirmed its fundamental role in representing accounting professionals from S\u00e3o Paulo, who will be key players in implementing the tax reform, acting as a bridge between taxpayers and the government. In his speech, president Jo\u00e3o Carlos Castilho Garcia highlighted the importance of the role of accountants in the transition to the new tax regime: \u201cAccounting professionals will be on the front line of this transformation, ensuring that companies migrate to the new regime safely and accurately,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
The meeting was coordinated by the president of CACB, Alfredo Cotait Neto, and brought together representatives from several institutions, such as the Commercial Association of S\u00e3o Paulo (ACSP), the Federation of Commercial Associations of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo (Facesp), FecomercioSP, Sescon-SP, Aescon-SP, CreciSP, and CRCSP, among others.<\/p>\n
The president of CRCSP highlighted the relevance of the debate for accountants, reinforcing that, with the expertise of these professionals, the reform will be implemented efficiently and in compliance with the legislation.<\/p>\n
At the end of the meeting, CACB President Alfredo Cotait handed Senator Pacheco a manifesto signed by the entities present, defending the maintenance of Simples Nacional as a differentiated regime, essential for strengthening the competitiveness of micro and small entrepreneurs. The document points out specific challenges in applying the rules of the reform to Simples Nacional, calling for adjustments that ensure fair and equal treatment.<\/p>\n
